Week Two: Visual Development
Over the course of the past week, I've been more and more deeply involved in environment design and creature design. We've met several times and have been hammering out the story, and ideally by next week we'll have a finalized animatic.
Initially, we had a very humanoid design for the main creature antagonist. To bring in some new ideas, I parted from that and tried to get as inhuman a silhouette as possible with my creations. I think I succeeded pretty well, there. :)

These are some of the first creature concepts I developed while the story setting was still in flux.
Here are my most recent designs, where I tried to part from humanity in fun new ways,
The creature in the story emerges from a tree...or is it the tree??? No one knows! (Well, we do.)
Also, I desperately wanted a small umbrella demon in there. Just to have. Isn't it cute?
Different from the creature concepts, this is one of the environment concepts I drew out. We wanted an outside view of the train station where the fight would be taking place, so I tried to make it a little more dynamic and interesting than the average city block is.
